Exploring with Anna

There’s nothing like going from an Ugandan Prison to the Italian Amalfi Coast in one day!
We were thrilled to be able to spend Anna’s final “Spring Break” with her last week.
Anna was able to travel a few days before we did. She hung out as a college student with her dear friend, KT Sansing, who is studying in Rome this semester.
We went right from our last Pepperdine Prison Project to the airport and an overnight flight to Rome. We picked up Anna at 8:00 am on Sunday and drove south. The weather was beautiful and we relished wearing warm coats and long pants after a VERY hot week in the prison.
We had just six short nights with Anna. We thoroughly enjoyed Matera, Alberobello, Sorrento, Amalfi, and Positano. We ate loads of really good food and walked and walked (something I miss in Uganda).
Anna had a relatively early flight out and we were easily 3.5 hours from the airport so Scott did his magic travel planning and found a charming hill town for our final night, just one hour from the Rome airport called, Sermoneta. We totally recommend it. We stayed in an old, stone family home with views over the entire town. (Aurora Medieval House.) We ate homemade pasta, cheese, bruschetta, beautiful antipasti and fresh bread in a restaurant in a cave under the town.
I had Tiramisu every day.
It's hard to believe that in just two short months Anna is graduating from college. We were so grateful to spend these precious few days with her in this beautiful part of the world.

Glad you all had a great time! The pictures are beautiful. And early congratulations to Anna! I saw Maggie last week and we are all excited about her good news! See you this summer.
