Big Sal

After 9 amazing weeks together – the law school interns have headed back to the US.
We loved having them. They worked hard. We shared many meals, great conversations, played games and adventured. They were a tremendous group and we were very sad to see them all leave.
We had a final dinner as a group. Our neighbor made homemade Thai food and we said some last good byes and shared significant memories.
We also laughed a lot – which we were prone to do.
The group wanted to do a nice “Thank You” so they commissioned an artist they met at a nearby craft market. They knew I had a favorite recent photo of Scott at the last Prison Project and they gave that to the artist as a center piece for a depiction of our work that week.
They were a bit taken back when they picked the piece up the day before our dinner. What they got…… well, it wasn’t what they expected. But when the piece was unveiled for us – we all knew it was PERFECT.
Can you find Scott?
A Ugandan friend is convinced that Scott looks like a priest. Scott might describe his depiction slightly differently.
Scott has named the piece, “BIG SAL.” Not quite sure why.
This beautiful gift will always make us remember a cherished summer with some remarkable future lawyers.
We are thankful – and still laughing.

This is so cool! Love the work that yall are putting in -Cole
