A marabou stork (over 5 feet tall with a wing span of 12 feet) is just part of the game.
Just a couple of miles from our apartment is the Kyadondo Rugby Club. Now that curfew has lifted. There are matches every weekend and some tournaments in the evenings.
Last weekend, we went to cheer on a friend who fancies himself a great player. His college days are behind him but he did pretty well. He played for the “Stallions” which is the feeder team for “The Heathens.”
Other than our little group, we saw pretty quickly that this was the hang out for young, single Ugandans. Mostly men but a few women and even fewer kids. There was a ton of B.B.Q. and beer. Folks were watching. Some were hanging out. Many were eating.
A herd (gaggle/pride/or whatever they are called) of Marabou Storks were just a part of the game

It’s wonderful to see so many people having fun and enjoying their lives. That huge stork may be the one that delivered our twins 48 years ago, or maybe it was his great grand stork. ❤️
