A Great Storyteller

A couple of weeks ago, Scott flew to Malibu, California for an “Evening at The Beach” to raise funds for Pepperdine’s Sudreau Global Justice Institute - the program that brought us to Uganda.
The keynote speaker for the event was a man named Bob Goff. Bob’s early legal work in Uganda paved the way for the work Scott is doing now. Bob also started a school in Northern Uganda that has changed the lives of thousands of kids. Bob is also a very captivating storyteller.
But I know another captivating storyteller – Scott Leist.
Here’s a video from that evening. I hope you get a sense of the beautiful surfside setting and the tremendous stories shared! Scott starts speaking at 55.09 into the clip.
During his talk, Scott references a picture of a young man named Richard. Richard is the Ugandan attorney who prayed with me in Mbarara prison for the little girl who was defiled. But Richard’s story is so much more than that one prayer. Scott shares just a small piece of it during his talk. And I’m including his picture here so you too can smile when you see what God’s grace looks like.
We have not previously asked for your financial support for this program. But today, after being on the ground in Uganda for over a year, we feel we would be remise in not giving you an opportunity to help expand the work here and into Rwanda. Our dollars go a long way in Africa.
We invite you to be part of this amazing mission. We invite you to give - significantly and generously. Join us today - click here - https://give.pepperdine.edu/law/sudreau-global-justice-institute
There are more stories to be told!

So there is a very suspect character in that beach crowd that security should have barred from entry. He may take legal action for unauthorized use of his image.
It truly was a completely brilliant presentation by Scott. So honored to be a part. The only thing wrong with the evening was that you were not with us, Sally. Darn. Next time for sure, please!
